Winter
I was look for a qoute to make this gosh darn cold weather make sense. I think i found it.
"If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome. '
Anne Bradstreet, 'Meditations Divine and Moral,' 1655American poet (1612 - 1672)
I wish that spring was here. Hauling water to the barn sucks. The water pump froze and cracked over a mouth ago. So Mom, Mike, and I have been hauling water ever since. And with this cold the water freezes almost as soon as I put it in the buckets. Oh well. T.T.F.N.

I hate Driving
Three days ago I left home to take Jessie to VA. We had a good time. We made good time, it took us 8.5 hours. Someday I must drive down Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah National Park as we went up and over it, and it looked beautiful. I thought I knew mountains but then I met the Blue Ridge Mountains. We arrived around 5pm and had enough day light to unpack the truck. That night we got most of her stuff unpacked.
The next morning Jessie started to work and I washed up and went shopping. I discovered that I talk funny in the stores. When I got back to the farm I finished putting J's clothes away because I had bought more hangers. I started to put her bookcase together but then I needed some tools so I went to the barn to ask for the tools. I met her boss Patty, she seemed really nice. Then I waited for Jessie and Kat to muck the stalls and feed the horses lunch. When they were done Kat got me the tools and Jessie walked back with me to have lunch. I was about to start putting the bookcase together and I got a phone call from home. Mike was having chest pains and they had called the ambulance. I packed up my stuff and ran out the door. It was about 2pm there was ice storm. As I drove north it went from a chilly rain to freezing rain. Once I got north of Harrisburg, PA it started to freeze hard. The higher in the mountains I got the worse it got at one point I was going 30mph on Interstate 81. Finally I reached NY. Then I got on Interstate 88 which had not seen a plow. I think my highest speed was 40mph. Most of the time I went about 35. If I did see a plow it came down the exit ramp and crossed both lanes and went to plow the west bound lanes, and needless to say I was going east. Finally I got to exit 17. The roads home had not seen a plow since day light and by this time it was after 1am.
I got home at 3am. It took me 13 hours to make what had been a 8.5 hour trip 2 days before.
I decided HELL is not hot at all. Hell is cold, ice cold. Hell is driving in PA on 81 in an Ice Storm.
Needless to say I slept most of the day on Wednesday. I just got grandma fed and did chores.

Jessie and I saw Twilight this eveing. It was alright but the book is better. We went with two of Jessie's friends, Erin and Virgina. This is the first movie I have been to since starting my job almost two years ago.

Hello
Polly here. I have have joined the club and started a blog too. I don't do to much just work (at a one of the local ARC's), the fair, the 4-H club I am a leader for, and Brit my English springer Spanial. Of course Brit is my Daughter and is spoiled rotten. Right now we are just waiting to leave for the vet as she broke her leg in september and had pin put in to help it heal. Hopefully the vet will say it is time to remove it this time. Brit loves to go to the vets, as she sees her adoring public. The girls in the office love her and give cookies. I will let you all know how it goes.
